TogetherFund.org (a Georgia 501(c)(3) organization) is sending the award winning family band, Laughing Pizza, on a 20 School Tour this fall. Group members Billy and Lisa (both former teachers) and their daughter, Emily, will be working with schools in Georgia as well as up and down the East Coast. Beyond offering a performance for the school, the band will engage kids in song-writing workshops focused on creating lyrics and music from real-life experiences – showing how to channel emotion and environment into the creative process – and the group will have the opportunity to perform some of the compositions.
Laughing Pizza is providing this same workshop experience in conjunction with select PBS TV stations around the country, as well as institutions such as The Children’s Museum of Atlanta and the Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton, NY. The tour will kick off during the “Back To School” season this August and will run through November 2009.
The fund is raising an estimated $75,000 to support the effort through public, private, and corporate donations – and has already received over $12,000 toward this effort. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please click on the “donate” button on the
